If you want to learn about tankers create a thread on the tanker forum on here. The tanker guys will all notice that. Then a bunch of non tanker people will show up and claim mythical abilities about surge.

Now you got the right idea ! I delivered fuel for two and a half years , loved it . Single and doubles. Gemini does Loves and Pilot FJ does their own . But two years xp over the road . There are OTR jobs like with QC that just require one . So maybe do your next six in vans. See you're smarter than me , anyways. But my only point was Stevens is scraping . Whereas Abilene isn't . But you'd have to talk to @Chinatown about them . And they probably don't have the dish tv and stuff . I just hope you do your six and beat feet , we have enough steering wheel holders

With her less than 1 year experience Abilene will put her with a trainer as a refresher, about 2 weeks.

If you need any info about Abilene, ask me, or read the thread I started 3 years ago that is still lively and engaging. You have choices, with your less than one year experience, you can get into a much better position than TA.

There U go, follow @JohnBoy's advice! I read his last 2 threads and to receive advice from JB is something to listen to. Extra plus in the deal is Abilene has very good looking equipment!

The CDL practice tests on this site have questions referencing planning ahead for stops with tanks and about dealing with surging. It wouldn't bother me, I've had strings of tankers push/pull sets of locomotives I've operated around, and I've ridden strings of them coasting out through a freight yard in the middle of the night and felt the liquid sloshing in there, they will bang into each other even when moving. But someone with 6 months of van and no tank experience might find it unnerving. I had just read the article I linked to before reading this...

Just trying to provide balance for the OP. And the article brings up an important point which is that no driver can prepare for a sudden teenage a'hole brake check like that.

Leasing is what got TransAm a bad reputation. Don't lease.
They try to force the lease on drivers, especially if you have some kind of expierience. They always have plenty lease truck on yard in Olathe but will tell you to wait in hotel or may even send you home to wait 2 to 3 weeks for company truck. Never Lease at TransAm.......
Get it in writing from recruiter that you have approval to be hired as a company driver. They have an unwriten rule to push lease on expierienced drivers.
