This is just very sad. There must be hundreeds of thousands of men and women at the truck stops sleeping to start it all over again tomorrow morning. Thousands more still on the roads tonight. Everyone doing the job they chose that gets them the money they're working hard for. Like any other job, not all of the employees are cut out for the role they take, but unlike normal jobs, trucking has deadly consequences from simply veering off the lines your meant to focus on. It's tough to imagine that while most of us end the day in sleep, sometimes a preventable accident does happen and that by chance, on that given day, it wasn't any of us or any of our family members that were affected. Tomorrow... Well, just pray and keep praying.

I simply do not understand how Swift has had 56 fatal accidents since 2014. I follow there stock very closely and read the long and boring earnings statement....it never says what they pay out for accidents, and lets face it fatal is expensive all the way around. How can the Feds allow them to keep a Authority? There has to be some sort of systematic break down at Swift. Sure they hire newbies etc but I would be stop at nothing CEO to stop these horrific wrecks....my god

I dont understand why everyone acts like SWIFT is any different than any other mega carrier. Swifts safety record is right on par with everyone else. The one factor that no one ever realizes is that Swift has over 22,000 drivers and over 25,000 power units. That is practically double the drivers and power units that Schneider has, and Schneider is pretty #### big. Now if you compare fatalities between the two, Schneider has 29 listed and Swift has 55 listed. So really Schneider has been involved in more fatal accidents per capita. Dont hear anybody outraged about Schneiders fatalities. Also with the fatalities listed you have to take into account that these include not at fault accidents.

Well you need to look at "miles" traveled per fatalities like the airlines do...neither company is stellar...In fact you have peaked my intrest in this...I bet 90% of the fatal accidents are company drivers not o/o ...every fatal is able to be looked up...I clicked a few they were all company drivers...but the report is do lacking if in depth information.
As an IC with Schneider I know my insurance takes the first 1 millon they take the next 9 million and then they have a huge umbrella for the rest god forbid.

Here a link to some Google Earth imagery of the over pass. I confirmed it was the correct overpass by comparing the food exit sign. -
