Thanks and even till this day, when the winds pick up and I am on some snow covered roads, I get white knuckled when lite. Like you said, it just takes once, and yesterday across I-90 in SD, more than once I watched by trailer start to head a little south on me

    Ya.
And too many drivers think it won't happen to them.

    The load can wait.

Well its one of those weeks, my cat got an abcess on his gum, it one day was about the size of a dime, I expected it to go down, instead it grew to cover his whole lower jaw. Went to the vets at PetSmart, just antibiotics and a hydration shot, hopefully it will help the cat.

Not, I repeat NOT an oil pan gasket leak, as others have said, but a head gasket leaking down onto the oil pan. A quick call to Freightliner, $2000 plus 2 - 3 days. I could scream, I just wish I could go to one place where everyone would agree and know what they were talking about, when it comes to this truck and its repairs.

    yep!

if you hear screaming, don't worry, its just me :)

I hope kitty will be OK.

I don't have the back story on the oil leak.
    Where is it?

I have an oil leak as well at the front of the engine. I thought, anyway.
Turns out it is only discharge from the blow by tube and nothing to worry about.

A head gasket leaking oil should make a river of oil running down from point A to other points.

Yes kitty is 18 + yrs old, I don't know, I tried getting an appt. w/a vet dental clinic, the wait was over 2 wks from now, so???

Yes, there is supposed to be a "rear" main seal leak from the back of the engine, but it wasn't leaking today, instead this one is coming it seems from the top of the engine under or around the front manifold covers, dripping down over the oil pan. And yes, been getting worst over the past few months. One young idiot at a TA, told me a couple of oil changes back, that it was the oil pan gasket, so I assumed he was right, but no.

The latest and worst problem is, I have only 13 days left to get my 90 day insp done, before going on maint hold, and this TA when I got my oil changed today, wouldn't pass it on a Annual DOT insp. But they didn't charge me for the fail, just told me it wouldn't pass.

I have the idea to just hose off the engine completely and then quickly drive it over to some shop to get it insp'd, before any more oil leaks or runs down anywhere. we'll see.

The truck needs a bath anyway, I just got to time it right with a trk wash right nx to a TA or something.

Otherwise, much to my surprise and delight, nothing else was really messed up or wrong with the trk. Just an annoying seal leak, here and there of course, in almost impossible to reach places and costing thousands of dollars to fix. haha.

problems, problems problems, what would life be like without them? I don't know, but I would like to try it and see.

Actually, when I had a problem with whats called an oil centrifuge , my oil pressure backed up and became so high, that it was blowing oil out my dipstick. The shop in Denver knew exactly what the problem was, and before that a place in SLC, all they did was put a new seal around the oil dipstick and steam cleaned the engine, what a joke, that only lasted for about a week. I was tieing rags around the oil dipstick to keep the oil from spraying all over the side of the engine and everywhere else.

Well anyway, to get another 90 day insp, the shop in Denver said my brake pads needed changing on my front axle because of the excess oil on them. I got two cans of brake cleaner, took it to a car wash the other side of the TA that has a trk bay. and with $10 in quarters, cleaned off completely all the oil. and yes the trk did pass after that.

But that's another story. But I saved a couple hundred bucks with 2 cans of brake cleaner and $10 in quarters and a little time at the car wash.

Awake this morning and nothing. Call the planners and they tell me nothing in the system, and then they send a plan, pick up in Cedar Rapids for Indy, Kroeger, and no del appointment and still about 200 miles from home and ect Memphis says there is nothing there and can not make a appointment until late Sunday night or Monday morning. So declined and change home time for the 18th. My plans keep getting messed up. Need home on a Monday so can turn the truck in prior to a Wednesday.
