Just make sure you look underneath and at the frame rails real good if it's a northeast truck. I get jealous when I look at those guys with older trucks from the southwest states and not a spec of rust on the frame with the original paint

Surprisingly theres not much rust under this truck,, the owner took very good care of it, kept all maintenance records, and the truck gets a chassis lube job every 6k and full oil change and service every 12k, and they have been replacing the gear oils every 6months.. this seems like they was very good at maintenance,, I think I'm gonna get it,, and keep following their maintenance schedule.. because after really looking into things theres not been one major repair, other then the engine being over hauled.. they said it was because it had a headgasket issue and the owner said just over haul it.. in the next couple of weeks ill talk numbers with my bank,, and then possibly have my very own first truck.. thank you everyone i really appreciate the replies and feed back..

84 CT exit 7/8/9. Right about halfway.
Sounds like a well maintained unit: getting harder to find those kind of maintenance records. Everybody wants to sell trucks with "xx,xxx on an overhaul, no paperwork"
IMO no paperwork means bad news.
More paperwork and when you can see the care that was taken means it's been well kept.
No rust is also a breath of fresh air. So much is advertised "well maintained" but once you get your face up underneath...not so much.AshtonMarie81 Thanks this. -
Personally I think dropping the gear oils every 6 months is throwing money down the drain. Believe it or not you can actually have oil samples taken from your diffs and transmission and you could use those samples to determine how long you could run with that oil in there. Every truck shop I've worked at seems to want to do gear oils annually or on a mileage schedule.
