Thank you very much for your kind support. As you indicated, I believe a judge and/or jury in a criminal or civil court would find my story regarding JB Hunt's reprehensible corporate behavior shocking and extremely distasteful. I am currently in the process of filing both criminal and civil complaints against JB Hunt and their (evil minion) agents regarding defamation of my personal and professional character and "wire fraud".
Part of the problem is: JB Hunt and their (evil minion) agents have kept me from obtaining suitable "living wage" employment in either the transportation services industry, as a professional driver, and also outside the industry. Therefore, I am broke and my civil case will have to be undertaken "Pro Se" (on my own and without an attorney to represent me).
Thank goodness North Carolina is a state where it is a breach of both civil and criminal law to defame a person to the extent that they cannot obtain future employment by lying about their past employment history. In addition, "wire fraud" and filing false evidence in a federal investigation are certainly interesting subjects to the FBI and the US department of Justice, as I recently found.
In any case, I continue to stand up for my "God-given" human right not to be exploited by an employer that would require me undertake illegal actions to accomplish my job as a professional driver. I continue to "fight the good fight" against this sort of blacklisting, "corporate bullying" and scandalous personal and professional defamation.

I do not believe it would be "wise" to give a 2-week notice that you are quitting JB Hunt. JB Hunt "middle" managers are a group of people that are both (mostly) unprofessional and vengeful. If you are not seen by them as a "team player" during your 2-week notice period (and you will not be a "team player", since you are leaving them), you certainly could encounter various "troubles" during this time.
Your trips, loads and miles will be negatively affected, no doubt about it, if you give a 2-week notice. Also, you should be applying to other companies currently, so that you can go directly to them when you leave JB Hunt without the "funny business" of "unfortunate mistakes" in your DAC report or employment reference that could significantly delay your switching employers. Best to get out as soon as you can schedule a new driver orientation date with another company.
Remember though, "do the right thing and be a professional" and return the tractor/trailer to one of their company terminals in good condition, keys placed on oil stick or with maintenance personnel, notify your dispatcher of your decision to leave JB Hunt, and, finally, clean out the inside of the truck some so that the next newbie JB Hunt driver will not find the truck a mess. Leaving the truck a mess only hurts the next driver, not JB Hunt. -

Burrows has it covered. In my earlier post, I said you should give 'em notice, but not let them know your plans. Well, I just thought about it (for about two seconds), and I think I've changed my mind.
Don't give a notice. J.B. insiders will screw you, just like Burrows said in his post. Remember, you have to be at a certain place when it comes time to go to the other company, no matter who that company is. More than likely, J.B. will make sure you're 2,000 miles from that point sitting in a truck stop for the next week if you do the "right" thing and give a notice.
You don't need it. Just put in your application (knowing J.B. will find out about your desire to quit) during your next break (make sure it's 4 or 5 days) and head to that company's next orientation. Take the time to check that new company, though. You want to make this a move for the better, not a move for the same 'ol same 'ol.
Take pictures of the truck, both inside and out, and have your wife/brother/father/whoever as a witness when you clean it out on the big "quit" day. -

I suppose I could be the "talk" of the company at JB Hunt, however, more likely, I am not openly acknowledged or am talked about only in "hushed voices". I found JB Hunt to be a very rigid "closed minded" organization with "primitive" thinking proccesses. I found that JB Hunt managers were not so much interested in improving themselves or others as much as being promoted at any cost and/or "covering their own tails" during troubled times.
During my work at JB Hunt, I did not go outside the "chain-of-command" originally with my complaints of illegal and unsafe directives of my fleet managers and/or dispatchers. I worked within the JB Hunt corporate structure to try to make changes from within. However, my well-intentioned messages to my supervisors regarding the illegal employee misconduct of manager-employees at JB Hunt were greeted with unfair employment related retaliation, general suspicion and uncomfortable pacing of the floor. In fact, these supervisors did not seek to remedy or investigate my complaints of illegal and unsafe directives by JB Hunt fleet managers and/or dispatchers. No. My complaints caused my supervisors to deliberately conspire to illegally terminate my employment with JB Hunt by any means available to them.
It is my feeling that JB Hunt and most transportation companies are more interested in the "bottom line" and "on-time deliveries" than operating in a safe and legal manner. Therefore, my question is: Why should I have to drive illegally as directed by my supervisors to earn an "honest" day's wage? Obviously, I should not have to carry-out illegal activities or lose my job. This was my choice while working at JB Hunt. Drive illegally as ordered or JB Hunt will terminate your employment. As I have written previously, if I wanted to work illegally for money, I could think of many other professions that would certainly pay-out more often and better and also offer less risk of jail-time or discovery by law enforcement authorities.
My only question for 1963_Trucker is: Why would you say that you hope "they screw you [me] 300 ways till Tuesday"? What is SO special about Tuesdays? In my experience at JB Hunt, I found that working at JB Hunt offered the individual a chance to be thoroughly and relentlessly "screwed" 24/7 and 365 days per year...LOL! -
Oh heck NO ..Dont let JB know about your plans .etc, etc
168 Just a follow up. My DAC report came in today that I sent to the old address,
It came in a really stuffed envelope! Gonna go over it today -
so, basically, are you guys saying to do what i do, but i recommend he not do...??
you know, up and quit outright........?? -
This is not the first job that you have left, so follow your own mind ; you made it this far in life standing on your own two feet.
