I'm guessing that's what the prints are for. But this time the application is only two questions, rather than your life story.
It's funny that it's all electronic, and zipped right to them, but still takes 4 to 6 weeks to process.

It's a FEDERAL THING. EVERYBODY has to test and fingerprint. EVERY time.
-
Yes every time

Your HazMat endorsement has a time period assigned to it when you complete the process, 3 years, 4 years, whatever. So you have to renew after that period expires. But your license and medical card may/do have different time periods, different cycles. Medical card, 2 years max. So there's going to be a new license before the HazMat endorsement expires. I just did a renewal on my CDL in NM, 1 year medcard, and the MVD here rolled my existing HM endorsement onto the new license. When this license expires in November, then I go to the full program for HM renewal. I might or might not renew, but my CDL will not be suspended if I don't, but it will go away if I don't contact them and set up the new CDL without it once that expiration date is past. FYI

When i added my endorsement. It was the middle of my 5 year license. I had to test and fingerprint. When my license was up for renewal, 2 1/2 years later. I had to test again. 2 1/2 years later, I had to fingerprint.
My last fingerprint was 6 months ago. My next license renewal is 16 months away at which i'll be testing or just drop it.
The problem i've had with the hazmat. I've never used it. And jobs have never asked for it. And i never see jobs advertised for it. But you can bet, as soon as i drop it. Those advertised jobs will start popping up. It's the only reason i added it back on in teh first place. Becuase of advertised jobs. -
Yes air i been having hazmat for ten years pulled my share of it

Here in VA, they do everything at DMV. first test, then fingerprint and then they ship it to Homeland for the rest. Also, if you have a TWIC, it gets tied in with that, with a reduced fee, and expires the same time

I just got my prints done Sept. 2013, tested to renew Hazmat a few days ago and the lady says I need to do prints again!!!!! Just a big #### scam for money like everything else the fed is involved in!!! 69 for test and renew and another 79 for prints, it's not right.
