Ontario Flatbed Companies?

    Hey guys.. Long time lurker and first time poster!

    I am currently doing OTR dry van for a company based out of Kitchener, ON. I'd like to switch things and go into flatbed - eventually heavy haul. Anyways, I only have 1 year of driving total (I did 6 months local flatbed, now 6 months OTR dry van)... Does anyone know of any companies who hire drivers onto their flatbed division with little to no experience? I've contacted a few companies but most require 2 years experience or some other requirement which I don't qualify for. Oh and also, I travel with my GF and dog in the truck, this seems to be a "safety" issue for some companies...

    You could try Mackie Transportation out of Whitby On. They hire new drivers that went to a recognized school. So you should be able to get in with a year exp.

    Spoke to tripleK already, unfortunately no pets / passenger policy. I've also looked at Mackie, same story..

    Give the guys at MacKinnon in Guelph a call, I think your experience will meet their requirements, but I'm not sure about the pets or passenger policy. MacKinnon will train you on flatbed.

    I know the operations guys at MacKinnon and I have met some of their long time brokers over the years, I dont think you can go wrong.

    try white oak transport in stoney creek, on. not bad company. i heard they tried to hire after school. after getting more experience i can hire you for better sallary
