Sorry I didn't jump into this in time.

So I'll just state this, postal haulers seem to think they are exempt from equipment maintenance. They run garbage and play Russian roulette with your licence.

    No worries.
I found out all I needed to know about the place and decided I should run.....very fast....and very far away.

Still, the funny thing is that the guy told me on Saturday that the reason they want applicants to pay is because they (the company) have too many people hire on, stay for a month of two, decide they don't like it for whatever reason, and then they leave. So as a way to save money, they require applicants to pay...

It seems like a better solution would be to run the company in a manner that wouldn't drive people away in the first 30 - 60 days because if a relatively small company (I counted about 18 trucks) has that big of a problem retaining drivers, making people to pay to even apply isn't the solution.

What's the USPS procedures now to bid on routes? I have mailed and faxed application and haven't heard back from the area office.

I have sent my completed paperwork to the Dallas Regional Office to bid on routes and I have yet to hear from anyone. Does anyone know if they've changed their procedures or who do I contact to speak with a living breathing person?

There's your first sign of how that company is run. I did mail for a few weeks. Total incompetent management. Just like your Gov.

Not all contractors are the same. Some run junk some don't. Some pay well some don't. In every aspect of this industry there are some companies who try to separate every dime they possibly can from the driver to put in their greedy little pockets . It's our job to figure out the difference and not drive for those companies.
