Am I missing something? If you have a CDL-A how could you have it without passing the air brakes section? I have never seen a tractor trailer with non air brakes. Fred Flinstone stopping power???

You most certainly can have a class a with air brakes restriction, it covers people who might drive a mid sized truck (f650 perhaps) with juice brakes pulling a 20,000 lb trailer, or whatever.

Because I haven't got a big enough saw to cut it off. That's the ONLY reason.

California, Arizona, Utah, Indiana, and Pennsylvania are the five states you can take your CDL and move to any other state, walk in, and leave with a new CDL. Now if you are going to one of those five, and your not coming from one of those five, you must assume the position.
