Just curious if anyone has any insight into this. Got an email from them last month about it, and saw an RGN behind a Maverick truck Friday. I'm sure there's some Maverick guys on here that know a little something about it. Thanks in advance....

That's all we need is them cutting the rates on rgn work.skootertrashr6 and Hurst Thank this.

LOL I was going to say something similar.
I guess there goes the heavy haul market. My carrier will end up parking his last 2 RGNs and putting step decks on them if Maverick is really getting serious about getting into heavy haul. My carrier already has 3 RGN trailers parked because of the bad rates in heavy haul. Barely cover the permits.
I guess then its really is going to be a rough year for me. If thats true,.. I can see step decks flooding the open deck lanes with O/O's jumping out of heavy haul and trying to work the over size loads with decks.
I got news for you guys thinking or planning that,.. rates are just as tough in my segment. Tighten your belts fellas.

Yeah, I or use my rgn a few times a month as it is. We took a load the other day and got paid 40% of what we did in 2014. I may sell it and put the money down on momma's new house.
johndeere4020 Thanks this. -
Maverick had RGN's two years ago already.
johndeere4020 and MJ1657 Thank this. -
Pulling an RGN doesn't make you heavyhaul.
Orangees, johndeere4020, MJ1657 and 4 others Thank this. -
Plus all I have ever seen are 2 axle trailers, even TMC. Maybe they are just not out here.Hurst Thanks this.

I've seen some Maverick double drops with mechanical necks. I've yet to see any of them with banners or flashing strobes,.. much less an escort or pilot. Not trying to bash their drivers. For the most part they have been very courteous, respectful and professional around me.

I saw my first TMC pulling an RGN when I got into Tenn on my way home the other week. He had a legal load tarped up in his well.
2 axle trailer and no drop axle on the tractor. So I dont see that set up getting into anything too serious. Nothing I couldnt permit my step deck to do,.. so kind of a waste in my mind.
