Does Millis have a decent amount of drop and hook or is it more live load/unload?
-
I forget the percentage, but we have a lot of drop and hooks. It depends on what kind of load it is, though. Beer might be drop and hook for pickup but live unload at the destination.

Any driver unload?
-
I've been with the company for almost two years and the only time I've had to help unload was a trailer full of in-flight magazines being delivered to an airport. They didn't have a dock, so they put a pallet jack in the trailer with a forklift and I had to move all of the pallets to the end of the trailer so the forklift could remove them. That entire load was out of the ordinary.
-
Only time I ever touched freight was to move four pallets to the rear of the trailer because their dock was blocked by a broke down truck.
-
They used to say like 90% drop and hook. But on regional I'd say more like 70%. Beer and grocery warehouses are usually live unload. Beer unloads quick. Grocery warehouses... Not so much. But you're making $20 an hour sitting after the first hour and a half.

I hate the grocery warehouses. It's typically an exact appointment time, but they won't even open the dock doors for an hour after you back in, then they'll take two or three hours to load/unload you. If they get to take their sweet time getting me done, at least I get that sweet detention pay for sitting there and playing Fallout 4 on my laptop.
