You do know vision can change, right? When I was in my early 30s my eye doctor changed my prescription 2 times. I don't know how long it has been since you have had an eye exam, but at a minimum you should never go more then a year. Last year I had cataract surgery. My vision in my left eye got very blurry over several years. There is a reason your eye has did the same. Get it checked out before you start doing things like getting wavers and such. Are you a diabetic? Did you know that out of control diabetes can cause changes in your vision? Even if you are young!

Both SADLY & UNFORTUNATELY, you may have to find a different line of work, if you are NOT able to meet the vision requirements in BOTH eyes.
By all means, check to see if you can get a waiver, however, please do NOT be disappointed if the answer comes back as "NO".
Good luck to you. God bless you and your family!

Google search federal cision waiver. When you find it there is no "packet" the information you find is what you need. There are a couple of different sections depending on you state .For example I live in Florida I needed a specific list of documents you may need something different. Then you need a specific set of eye exams. Send all of that ti D.C. They have 6 months to review it, count on at least 4 months its good for 2 yrs.
It is vali for all state and yes you can run otr. When I have time I will try to post a link -
Www.fmcsa.gov/medical
Some states have intrastate exemptions ie. Florida where you are allowed to dive intrastate only, had that for years. It was automatic don't know if all states do this. The federal waiver is need when running otr.Last edited: Apr 15, 2016

Got to the chiropractor who does DOT physicals at the Iowa80 truckstop in Iowa. He turns his back during the eye test so when he says to cover an eye I just keep both open.
