Do the orientation that they've got you set up for, and if you feel that you need more training afterwards just let their safety supervisor or training supervisor know. I'm sure that they'll be willing to get you extra training if you feel like you need it. And if you don't need it, that's less time that you'll have to waste.

Chinatown and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Yeah but you mentioned going out with a trainer right. Well that's all you'll need right there. Its normal to be nervous about starting a new profession and new job, but I wouldn't worry or over think any of it. Trust the system, they'll see where your skill set is at, and teach you the basics and that's all any one can do.

    Trust the system, it works.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

The key to backing is to be aware of everything thats around you, keep your eyes on the left tandems of the trailer, figure out where you want them, then put them there. At least that always worked for me. Of course, if you're blindsiding, youd have to watch the right but I would avoid blindsiding as much as possible.

Yes but backing a flatbed with spreads is a little different, with some you have to walk your trl in, it comes with practice, you just can't jack a set of spreads like a set of tandems,

Super 10 just shifts a little different than a regular 10 speed. Instead of having 5 low gears and 5 on the high side, a super 10 has the basic 5 gears but you use the range selector to split each gear sort of like the way old 2 speed rear end, but this is all in the transmission. Easier to drive in my opinion.

Aaaaaahhh....like an 18 speed.? Anyways I agree with Buddha to trust the system as well as 8thnote just don't go outside your comfort zone trying to prove something you haven't even practiced because an accident will trump that you need a little more work. HTH.

Remain calm, be careful, don't get in a hurry and don't let anyone make you rush.
