I've heard a few Schneider drivers say they've heard/saw what a customer is paying and it's a lot more than what we get.
Dunno if it's true though.. because well a driver said it lol.Last edited: Apr 15, 2016
drvrtech77 and CaptainDaveG Thank this. -
A couple years ago I hit the lottery the board, 500 mile overnighter 35 hundred an change one pick one stop.
These loads I never would haul cause they were always cheap 1.25 44lbs.
I haven't caught a mistake on the board though in a long time.
You would be very wrong to think snl doesn't take a massive cut before it goes to sniPoleCrusher and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
Yes sir I have,I was on choice for some time and have my own numbers now.
I pull for Schneider Logistics sometimes,so I pull some of the same loads you do.
Even pull a pumpkin trailer at times.
When I call in for a load that's been posted at a certain amount on the board and then the broker says no that isn't the correct rate,it's the broker trying to negotiate the load for as less as possible.
Then why the hell is it posted on the board you say?
They're trying to get what the lane pays on average.
I'm all about haggling but when you list a load for $1250 then I call in and it's $725 that is manipulation.
Now mind you almost all brokers do this no matter the board.
My son is on Choice,so I have access to the choice board still.
I can see what the rates are for loads that you guys get and what SNL posts them for.
Take a load from Shippensburg Pa to Uxbridge Mass I do this load often.
Pays 922.94 that's 2.32/mile on Choice.
I can do the same load for 1523.56 that's 3.83/mile.
Still think you're getting 65%?
I've heard some of you mention contract freight, this is where you are getting hammered.
P&G alone pays great rates almost anywhere in the country and yet you are held to freight trend rates.
Say you pull out of an area that trends at $1.65/mile(northeast),schneider takes their 35% that leaves you with $1.08 a mile.
But figure in contract freight and believe me P&G is high, now you have a rate coming out at 3.50/mile in a area no one wants to run like New England.
When's the last time you saw 2.27/mile coming out of there?
Contract rates have a sliding scale to meet the demand of an area,so not all are the same.
Still think you're getting a fair shake?
Don't get me wrong choice is a good program.
The best for someone who is leasing a truck, not that I recommend it.
But they took a great program and cut it to the bone.
And it's getting worse.
Only reason my son is running it is he's a hard head and some people you can't teach.
I don't post much here and I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers but look around you at all the ''facts''.
It's easy to go online and read then post like you know something about everything.
You're not fooling anyone.

I look at Choice as a step up the rung, and as always some people will be better at negotiating with brokers than others, supply and demand always dictate what the rate will be and from there it's a matter of dividing the money between parties.
On my way to getting to where I want to be, Choice will likely be a step along the ladder. @freightwipper thanks for maintaining this thread, its one of the better one's on TTR.redoctober83 and freightwipper Thank this. -

Too bad you don't recognize what's happening in GB for what it is.
There should be a set percentage for what logistics gets before it goes to SNI, and the full rate sheet should be disclosed to all parties involved in hauling the load. Instead, you have them deciding how little they can get us to run the load for, and that's where its posted on the board. -
Unfortunately there are folks who are earning much less at other mega's that look at even $900 after everything as an upgrade in pay, thus reducing your leverage.
Any large corporation is going to do what it can to reduce costs, and I'm sure more changes will come so long as their program remains one of the more sought after lease programs in the industry.PoleCrusher Thanks this.
