Fair point. Although listening to bad experiences and choosing not to lease doesn't mean you should be giving advice to people interested in leasing.

I have exp in this field so I would say my advice is valid. Also I never said not to lease if you'll look back and read what I posted. If I was considering leasing I would welcome any and all advice. Its better hearing it from drivers even the ones who have never leased rather then finding out the hard way that this was a not so good idea.If they choose to lease more power to them and wish them nothing but success but chances of that happening is remote especially with companies that have a high turnover.

The folks who make the money are the companies leasing you the truck. Save your money for a down payment on a good used truck or maybe rent one from Ryder, Penske, etc and that might put your foot in the door for true ownership. God bless!

I don't know the details of your specific deal, but you mentioned saving money. Remember in most lease purchase deals, you alone are responsible for all repairs. Any driver who thinks he can have weekends at home, and take home $1400 to $2500 driving 5 days s week is seriously misinformed. A transmission or engine failure not covered by the manufacturers original warranty, is in for a rude awakening. Your savings will be gone, and you'll be left holding the bag. For many L/O's that's the end of the road. If your rent to own program covers all major repairs, then it would be a different story, but there is a lot to be said for just being a driver, leaving the ownership to someone else. If L/P was such a good deal, the fleece companies would be doing it themselves, and keeping all the profits. You can't borrow your way to prosperity.

Yeah @ a higher interest rate and depending on someone else to dispatch the miles or %age of the load you have no control over
