Hopefully somebody who works for Hanson and Adkins in Florida can help me out with a few questions. I live near the Jupiter Florida location and want to become a driver but it looks like they are not hiring at that location currently. The closest location to me that is hiring is Orlando which is 120 miles away from my house.
If I apply at the Orlando location how often do the drivers get home? Ideally I'd like to be out at least a week or two before taking time off and having to Drive home.
Thanks for your time!

That should not be a problem. If you hire on in Jacksonville, I'm sure they still need drivers since they send us down there to help out all the time, you should be able to run as hard as you want and take your truck home.

Do you think I should apply at Jacksonville and not Orlando? Jacksonville is 220 miles away and Orlando is 120 miles away from my house. I live in Port St. Lucie. -
I would just give them both a call and see which would work best for you. There's alot more freight and longer runs out of Jacksonville. Usually no matter where you run out of, you can kick out and run the system. Meaning you can pretty much pick how and where you want to run.

I would apply in Jacksonville as Orlando Terminal doesn't service the Jupiter area. Several Jacksonville drivers live in the South Florida area and are home most nights.
paul_4lp Thanks this. -
Orlando and Jupiter are Railheads which usually means multiple short runs a day. Jacksonville is a port. Hansen ships Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Ford and Subaru from JAX to FL,GA,AL,MS,TN,NC,SC,VA.
Its a matter of what you prefer doing. Railhead drivers are generally home every night but loading and unloading is the hardest part of hauling cars and they do it 5 or 6 times a day. Port or plant drivers will usually run overnight loads, staying in a hotel and going to the nearest terminal when empty.
