We've got a 2011 KW T700 ISX. Low coolant light and bell going off, but coolant is fine. I replaced the sensor and checked the wiring and it looks good. What else should I be looking at and how do I turn off that infernal bell in the mean time?
Thanks in advance
Steve

Id overfill it once past the line, just to see if that kills the alarm....

My pal sent me this...
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the coolant level switch.
Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal and ground.
Engine running, verify the low coolant indicator turns OFF.
If the indicator does not turn OFF, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
If the indicator turns OFF, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
If all circuits test normal, replace the coolant level switch. -

probably have broken wires between ecm and coolant sensor or maybe bad module if your truck has it for coolant supply voltage to sensor either way i think it's about time for a shop you did all you could.

I have used paperclip to buypass sensors...
Ive bypassed the speed limiter, and the engine temp sensor before with no side affects...
You seem like a smart feller, probably thought of the next 5 things Im gonna think of...so i quit, lolOldironfan Thanks this. -
Is truck shutting down. When alarm sounds

On almost all the truck I have seen the problem is a break/open in the wiring just back from the sensor in the rad tank, they vibrate and break inside the insulation so is hard to see, with out a multi meter and doing a wiggle test it may be hard to confirm, should show 5 volts. I normally cut the wires back 6" and crimp on new connectors, but as you say you want an easy fix, not sure on a T700 but behind the center dash panel (speedo/tach) there are little dip switches that can turn off/on alarms sometimes or cover the speaker with tape to mute it for now..
Rideandrepair and nomad3d Thank this.
