impedance matching Transformers for audio

First thing there isn't a polarity issue with transformers.

Second is most likely you will need a bobben system to wind the transformer, thinking it will have to go on a toriod form to keep the size down.

Fiberglass skin over aluminum framework. Doors are aluminum. Daycabs are all aluminum.

 

Rabbi, I finished going through what I have, I don't really have anything hat will work. Many of them have shorts in them and are going in the scrap pile. others don't have the impedance needed. This week has been hell for me, busy, 12 hour days and not even enough time to finish anything. My two daughters and youngest son went through all of them for me and wrote down the specs on those which were not shorted.

So Rabbi I tried.

OK guys here's the deal on the Cascadia.

The guy took me to a pub and we had some drinks and he had the shrimp, I had fish, he got food poisoning, I got stuck with the bill and I took him to the hospital. He got out yesterday and we are going to finish up his truck maybe sunday, depending on how he feels. Next week I will be on 14 hour days seeing that one of my customers will be moving 2.2 million pounds of dies and I will have the big truck to make 10 trips.

No pictures will be posted, I have a reason for that and that is a possible business reason. I won't get into that. However, I was discussing this issue with another O/O who has a casicadia (which he hates as much as I do) and he let me look around his setup, which seems to work well. I looked carefully at how it was grounded, and I came to a conclusion that the cab ground system is non-existent. He said he ended up using grounding straps in four places in the cab, including the shock mounts on the cab. Just something he claims helped. I see another issue which I will be experimenting with when I finish up work on this other one, I will put the grounds in as he has but there is another area I think is ignored, and I will focus on that next. what that is, someone can figure out where I am talking about - sorry for the cryptic statement.

 

You're on the right track of what we did but it isn't about just the cab. The improvements came form putting in the copper but we stopped with the sleeper and didn't get to the dash area.

I am thinking that there is a problem with everything on this POS truck and one of those things is how the grounding system (power not RF) in the truck may be one issue that effects the RF. I won't know until I get more into the path I planned out. I expected the work to be done in a couple days but talking to his son (he was looking at different ideas) and then a few others who work on mobile installs over at GM the other day, there is a lot more to this than just good mobile ground plane. The truck won't be on the road for at least three weeks more, the guy isn't in shape to drive and may be back in the hospital for a bit more - nasty food.
