United Salt in Carlsbad comes pretty close to being 24 hours.

Kick off your load at 3 pm. Hit truckstop at 330 shower n lay it down. Wake up n go at 130. Arrive at 24 hour shipper at 230. Load and depart 330. Arrive at first stop at 7.

Or kick off your load at 3. Hit truckstop 330 shower and lay it down. Get up at 530, race to beat rush hour arrive at 7 anyways. Reload and depart at 800. Fight traffic arrive at reciever at 1130 if you're lucky. Then they go on lunch bc of the "bankers hours" they work. Unloaded at 1 try to make it to next shipper before cutoff time of 3pm. Hit or miss.

Longer length of haul can influence what times of day you run, what areas you run can influence when you need to be to/thru/passed a certain area.
24 hours shippers are out there. Sometimes it's a blessing, sometimes it feels like a curse.

I deal with a lot of daytime only shippers/receivers. It's fine. Otoh I have to have 2+ trailers to keep my schedule smooth.

It's the nature of the customers, so many of them being construction and small or medium sized manufacturing ventures.

I've done a lot of flatbed loads that loaded/unloaded in the middle of the night for several different companies. Mostly sacked mud, chemicals, cedar fiber, and anything else that a drilling rig uses. Usually loads as fast as I can strap down, and unloads as fast as I can unstrap and unload my trailer with the rig's Skytrack. Lots of times we can get 2 - 3 loads in a row. They load close to home, and are usually less than a 60 mile haul.

I had 2 loads last week that unloaded after 9 pm. One the shipping manager told me it was up to the night guy. I showed up at 8:30 pm and he said he would unload me but didn't say a word about being off at 9. He came around to where he told me to go around 8:50 with short forks when he should have known he would need 8 foot forks. He was not pleased to find out I had just gotten my tarps off. He assumed it wasn't tarped and didn't ask. Luckily for me he had already signed my bills so he had to stay late and unload me. Bet he won't be unloading late again.

Whenever I'm on my trailer getting sweaty and dirty I remind myself that by late afternoon I'll be showered and parked for the night , and the next morning at 4am I'll be in bed instead of bein on a NY or NJ meat dock.

This. The best part of pulling open deck is no food ever goes on my trailer.
