You know, you ask a question about something on this forum, like, "what companies have the fast trucks"?
and all everyone talks about is how slow other trucks are or how fast their truck can go. Frustrating, very frustrating.

Look for the smaller family-owned companies with lots of stainless and chrome accessories that take pride in their equipment.

All mega starter companies have slow trucks, ones that require a yrs exp med to large size carrier trks are governed from 65 to 68,small carriers I would say they're wide open or 75 to 80.

Thanks for the input. I have been with several large carriers and I`m sick to death of being one of the slowest truck on the road and I`m not talking about doin 75 or 80, I`d be happy with just 70.

Go lease you a truck from KLLM so you can run 70 mph through construction zones, small towns etc like they do

I drive a Kenworth that has no governed speed. Look for me blowing your doors off in a purple and white w900b pulling a hopper bottom. If you want to go fast get into ag trucking like live stock or hopper.

Produce companies usually run pretty fast, especially if running team. I drive for a team produce hauler in NC. Company has about 60 trucks and we go to the west coast once per week. 69mph to the floor and 72 on cruise. Clean kenworths.

The way I'm setup, I do best around 68mph. 1500 rpm is the sweet spot on my 6nz 550 running @ 650hp (custom file/ fls/fts #s/turbo/torque setting, added fuel wrote in). At 1500rpm with my 13 and 3:55s I'm doing 68mph and in the low to mid 6s mpg. That considerably better than I was getting running 62mph with a stock 500hp file @1650 torque. I was lucky to see 5.5 on a good day with a tail wind.
Takes a pretty steep grade @ 80,000lbs to make me drop a gear now too.

Better yet buy one and set it up to run.

Of course everyone with a fast truck runs reckless, huh?
