I think the blown steer tire hasn't been reported yet. What has been reported is a witness stating the truck suddenly veered to the right and that the authorities are investigating why the driver "lost control" of the vehicle.

Loss of control with sudden veering has a short list of possibilities. Steer tire blowing is certainly on the list.

Regarding sleep, you make a good case for the difficulties sleeping as a professional driver.

Here is EXACTLY (notice this is a quote of your post) what you asked!

YOU asked the question giving no limiting parameters to any similarity to trucking or transportation. Want to keep it in the transportation industry...how about plane crashes involving more than 50 deaths PER INCIDENT....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_...incidents_resulting_in_at_least_50_fatalities
You want to make accusations about incidents or crashes...yet you don't want actual answers to your incomplete or thoughtless remarks. I doubt that you even understand the statistics or the search parameters of how the stats were derived. The statement that Swift was involved in 56 fatality crashes was made, what this statement doesn't say is how many of these 56 were CAUSED BY Swift. Now this number "56" came in statement involving 2 years...so this is actually 28 per year. Did any of these deaths occur in an accident like the Pennsylvania I-78 crash...3 dead, 40 hospitalized, and left others transported to warming shelters...oh, 50 vehicles involved...but no Swift! How about the 96 vehicle dust caused accident Hwy 99 outside of Bakersfield last year, or Wyoming on I-80 involving 68 vehicles...no Swift in either of those. Your accusation and stats don't match up, just as the statement by the reporter has little or no merit since the actual statistics were "tweaked" to gain attention and bravado to an obvious bias.

You want to play semantics...better find some dumber folks to try that game with! Today's trucker does not fit in the old stereotype of back-hills red-neck pea brain. Think before you post...you will find a better conclusion!

Do you even know what you are talking about? My guess after this post is an absolute NO!

Companies don't have "PSP" scores....drivers have "PSP" scores.

This was a sad incident. So sad to hear about this and the trainee is my brothe n law's little cousin. So sad. He was a passive guy and might have been forced to drive and afraid to speak up about being tired

Yes companies do so have PSP scores. Look it up on the internet. Everytime a driver receives a DOT recordable violation it goes on the companies PSP report. It stays on the companies record for 3 years just like the drivers record. Your the one who doesn't kmow what your talking about. You should find out the facts about a subject before you put incorrect information out that proves your ignorance of the subject.
