The way this thread went it's very possible he wasn't on the scale the right way when he first weighed. Could have had half a tire off the scale that would make you look lighter. Probably just the snow.

I have been having the same issue. Every load out of one customer will be over with the tandems all the way back. I'm just going to start refusing those loads. I have a clean license and it's not worth it to constantly risk a ticket. If it was a one time thing then I can work around it but when it's a systematic problem then someone has to put a stop to it. I'm sure my company doesn't want a bunch of over weight tickets either.Chewy352 Thanks this.

Don't worry about the people bashing you for trying to be legal. While I agree you could slide the tandems and probably be fine just remember if you take a turn too sharp and pop a tire or whatever the company will blame you and not the shipper who forced you to have to slide the tandems all of the way back. Stuipd question. If the shipper got the weight wrong on the bol are they liable for overweight tickets? I got one load, said 4500lbs, ended up being closer to 35,000lbs. -
Axle weight tickets don't show on your dmv report.....
Sometimes you have to think on your feet. Risk/Reward.......
Sliding it back a foot has almost no risk in this case. You guys should think about another line of work........Last edited: Apr 19, 2016

If they keep loading the same way I don't blame you for starting to refuse loads. You would think they should know how to load. They wanna load as much as possible and make more money not caring about the driver having to deal with it.Chewy352, Dominick253 and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this.

If it's a live load then TELL THEM HOW TO LOAD IT

That sounds about right. Lol. I finally found a safe company now. Told them the top marker lights were out on the trailer (I was willing to do the load and then they can repair it after that). Dispatch had me go straight to the dealership to get it fixed. It's nice getting a green pass on scales 95% of the time as well. If the company
Exactly, same with repairs. If it right it up and the next time I see that trailer it's still broken then I will refuse to hual it. Red tagging equipment is the only way to make sure it gets fixed. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.pattyj and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this. -
People just don't care starting with the companies, you tell them trailer needs repaired,ok they say and thats as far as it goes then the next driver and the next is left to deal with it.Dominick253 Thanks this.

Hauling a load of flying Canaries is fine, it's just when they all land on the floor at the same time is when yer going to have weight problem's. LOLDominick253 Thanks this.

He's probably just new and worried too much about every little detail being by the book. It takes experience to know when something is a big deal and when it isn't. Tandem/kingpin setting is one of those rarely enforced laws unless your in CA.pattyj Thanks this.
