If I remember right he said he has 1yr 7mo experience, I have to give him credit, he has handled the comments here like a pro... knowing what his trainer taught him, vs what the book says, vs what is posted here, vs a pissed off dispatcher; At this stage in his career I'd be having a nervous break down, wondering if or when he'd get another dispatch or how bad his next load(s) will be as punishment.
Good luck Demonrogue, and please let us know how this ends.

ok since its all said&done....just had to add lil of what I've been thinkin
First in op defense....he is a Newbie w/Mega.....and although I have absolutely NO personal experience w/these type companies....I've heard on numerous occasions How at some point in orientation or whatever somebody from Safety spends a good deal of time hammering the Absolutely LEGAL mantra in these folks heads&making #### sure they understand the consequences.....so the gettin tottaly legal part ya gotta give him
My problem here(as has been mentioned)Is the routing.....I really want to know who/how this so called routin was determined.....The only states he should be in are Co-Ne-Ia&WI......
and I even broke out my crusty RM motor carrier atlas&the only bridge law I could find is in the Badger&that's 43'......dont see or no of Any for the other 3....&op was slightly over at 41'....so having 2'to adjust with....should have been plenty.....thus my confusion.....Al. Roper, insertnamehere, EZ Money and 3 others Thank this. -
If I can get a ticket for it I'm not hauling it. A friend of mine had one point on his license. Thats now costing him an extra $1500/ year in insurance. So if it ain't right I don't go. In the past ID try writing it up so it can be repaired at a more convenient time but they always forget. But when the truck has a red tag on it they HAVE to fix it. Only way to get anything done with most companies.

Pretty sure this is the source of everyone's confusion lol
I don't run illegal either, I know my company would throw me under the bus in a heartbeat, but if the numbers he gave were right there is no reason he couldn't make that load legal.insertnamehere Thanks this. -

Crusty ole atlas huh, lol.Bet you had to blow off the dust if it's been awhile since you opened it,lol.Only thing I've ever used my atlas for was routing and how to avoid those tolls. Then an occasional different way to avoid a certain scale house.I was legal but some scales just like to pick on certain trk drivers and I didn't need it so I would find an alternate route.insertnamehere and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this.

I had a A 2001 atlas I got from a driver while I was in school.Used that for yrs untill one day I got mad while looking at the blow up map of Chicago and ripped a bunch of pages out so I could have a better look of cbicago. It kind of fell apart after that,lol.passingthru69, insertnamehere, ‘Olhand and 1 other person Thank this.

I'm just the opposite. I want 'em either equally balanced or biased heavy to the nose. Even pulling a spread axle flat that can legally haul 40K on the trailer, I'd rather have the drives up around 34K and whatever is leftover on the spread. Rides better when it is balanced, and you're less likely to get stuck if the weight is on the drives. I want my tractor carrying as much of the load as it can legally carry, especially in inclement weather.Al. Roper and Dominick253 Thank this.
