What about safety audits, do they ask for a printout with times from a fuel card, or do they get satisfied with just paper receipts?

My quick guess is they can look at what you log then check your gauges.

They get the records from the card issuer.

To stir up a little more conspiracy theory ... look above any fuel pumps at any major truck stop and notice the tag readers
    • Are the readers reading ANY EzPass or other transponder?
    • if so, where does the activity go?
    • who has access to the activity? Any weigh station? Only the truck stop chain?
    • for how long would that data be accessible and by whom and by what means?

    bzinger Thanks this.

You cant get legal at least once a day to match a fuel receipt? Or at least every other day?

You arent doing yourself any favours by bending the rules so far you cant even log your fuel legitimately. I used to run like crazy. In the end I didnt make much more and I was a zombie behind the wheel a lot of the time. I am lucky nothing very bad happened. I did get caught. It sucked.

Yea I got caught in Canada. Comes with a 72 hour oos. And about a $500 fine. I still did it after that, but nowadays the legal ramifications scare me into not breaking the rules right off like I used to. Still bend them a bit here and there but not often and not egregiously like before.
