Mike, In your opinion......Cascadia w/stainless steel pertch, 7 ft skipshooter or 7 ft firestick or predator k-10 on a 27 in. shaft close to 7 ft overall length
-
I've only tried the 7ft skipshooter. I'm sure the 7ft Firestick will work as well. You would just have to try the Predator and see. The object is to get the load up as high as you can. I'd say the Skipshooter will out talk the Predator on the Cascadia pretty easy.

Thanks for the reply, I will probably go Skipshooter.

It's cheaper and nobody will steal it. I would brace it off the top of the mirror though, it keeps it from waving around so much, it will keep more vertical, and it will last longer. Anything non-conductive for your brace will work

Predator with 27 inch shaft works excellent, I used one for about a year, as I posted on another thread, when it gets covered in ice or the wind is blowing hard and it starts shaking around all the stress is put upon the attenna mount and the perch on the door mount. I have been using for the past month or so a 5ft Firestick and results are great.

Ive also used the 5.5ft Francis and it worked really well, only thing is swr is 1.7 and there is no adjustment, and it is really flimsy and the wind will really whip it around. The other day I helped another driver with his setup( this is all new to him) and he had 9ft of coax and a Wilson 4ft silver load and after completely removing the stinger we achieved a swr of 1.6, and even with the 4ft he had, and the 5ft I have we still were able to maintain communication 7 miles apart( going opposite direction) him using stock cobra 29 and me using my trusty stock Bearcat 980, so I guess the shorter attennas are still doable, but like mike and Volvo recomend the longer lengths are definitely going to be better for transmit and receive.
