The NS Landers Yard Was N&W-Nickleplate- Do you remember the B&O on 79th and Rockwell?? 2 blocks east of western.
BN Ogden and House9- Santa Fe Kedzie?
I Thinmk the Illinois central ICG- Was puirchased By the CN ( Grand Trunk)
How about CNW (wood st)? or CNW (proviso)?
Those are all UP yards now I believe
I loved going into APL on Paulina at 4am to get an empty to Live Load somewhere.......I kinda miss doing our Rails..But then again ,No I don't.ChicagoJohn Thanks this. -
Sf Kedzie, I still call just Kedzie. Everyone calls it Corwith, but I'll always be just Kedzie.
Oddly enough, UP is still called Proviso by a lot of drivers.
Someone else told me IL Central was bought my CN and incorporated into CN, but not sure if it was CN Harvey or not.
I never had to deal with APL.
Later, I was working at R&L doing ltl and I was delivering bolts to the work site that would become UP global 3.stayinback Thanks this. -
yeah you need them we started using them when some container fell on the road by one of our drivers i guess for instance like in a pothole or a big BUMP in the road and woha!!! its all in the air

I didnt read every entry above, so this may have been mentioned. If you flip the ziptie over so the little teeth are on the outside of the curved tie, the teeth wont grab the plastic holding thingy. Slide it through the hole on the tie and pull tight. They do loosen a bit but I have never lost a tie in over two years. I do this to avoid waste and its so much faster to get them off. Just pull and they release.

As do I. However, my approach is the fact I dont need to cut them off or throw them away. I just dont want to create waste. Thats all.
RERM Thanks this.
