I got fingerprinted 6 weeks ago for Tx hazmat renewal, still haven't heard anything. Tried to call customer service for Tx dps just got a recording saying all agents busy and it hung up on me. So as a last resort I go to the living hell known as the dps office, they punch my info in the computer and they say it's still pending.
I hope it's approved soon as my hazmat expires in a month, I've heard they'll give you an extension If needed but hopefully it doesn't come to that.
What a pain

MO is good for 5 years and you do not have to get fingerprints done again. I renewed last year and my husband renewed last week.
-
I was told fingerprints was a one time deal. Only to find out my license was.suspended 5 years later for not submitting new prints. im pretty sure its a federal law fingerprints need to be done every 5 years.
-
I tried calling DPS last week, couldn't get through. I asked my gf's brother-in-law cuz he drives tanker. He told me prints everytime u renew. I got my license in the mail, expires 2021 but on the back Haz expires at the 90 day mark in july cuz the prints need to be submitted again.

The hazmat test is every time you renew. Prints are 5 years from whenever you have them done.
My prints are due in the middle of my 5 year license cycle. every 5 years. which means every 2 1/2 years i'm either taking test or submitting prints. -
I had to call TSA. They said that since I'm in Texas there have been delays with them getting the prints. But told me they'd try to expedite it.
Apparently in Texas you have to go to dps, than take the test, than go get prints. In other states you go straight through the TSA.
The government keeps making this job harder and harder. -
In utah it can be done in either order. You just dont the final hard copy till both are done.
-
1 year here in SC but I only get a 1 year med card anyways. So next month gonna renew my license but not gonna worry about the hazmat mess.
-
Hazmat got approved. The renewal took 10 weeks from start to finish.
