If it's DIRECT CONNECTION TRANSPORTATION/DCT, MC 445493, they're listed as a subsidiary of Roadrunner Transportation Systems, MC 170247. Not that it helps the OP much, but if someone comes on here in the future looking for info on either company, at least they'll know who's who.
I had a very similar deal (dry van freight though) with a company called Direct Transport, MC 294208 out of West Fargo, ND. I had to file on their bond, then the bond agents lawyer gave me grief, "my hands are tied, blah, blah, blah", it was a real mess. I eventually was paid but they cheated me out of a $200 lumper fee. I put them on the old No Loads list, counted it as a lesson learned and went on my way.Dave_in_AZ, Night Hauling and regal1trans Thank this. -
DCT are some shady crooks. I have yet to hear something good about them

So I'm guessing that you signed a contract that gave them the right to offset claims? If so, hoped you learned something. If not, file on their bond. The reality is that they have no right to withhold payment unless you gave it to them.
