I could have gotten on that Kohls dedicated, I was afraid I would get bored.

I was woken up to pounding this morning at 0645 for my truck to be brought in to the shop.
They wasted no time.
The oil leak at the front of the engine was fixed, as well as the front differential, and I was back in the truck at around 1400.
It wasn't long before I had a pplan.
Nothing special, just heading up to Tracy for a 1800 delivery tomorrow. But at least I have something out of here.
Actually, I really don't want it. It is going to the Safeway, and they can take forever to unload. So it looks like I'll end up at the Lathrop terminal tomorrow night.
As soon as I had the truck back I headed for the nearest Walmart for some real food. I was down to a couple cans of soup.
And, I met my old mentor!
As I was talking to the shop foreman to see if the truck was ready I looked over and saw him.
I haven't actually met him since I went solo over 5 years ago, so we did some catching up.HousTank Thanks this. -
Got Snickers? ... at a grocery DC in IL ... 12 pallets, that have to break down to 131 pallets ... $493 for the lumper.

Every time I've been to Safeway in Tracy it's been a drop.

Always a drop too in tracy but they make you wait to a door is available for you to put trailer in then hook to an empty. Too lazy to pay their yard dogs to do it I guess

I only ever heard of one lease op trying it in the time I was doing it. He didn't last long. Nothing but company trucks other than that. I'm not even sure that the woman in charge of the account would accept another lease op.
She does also try to get drivers that live near to one of the Bush plants, either around Dandridge TN or Augusta WI. Though not sure that is a big issue since one of the frequent deliveries is Walmart DC in Grove City OH. So I wouldn't think getting home would be hard.
I can't say whether your empty miles would be paid as loaded or not. For a company driver all miles paid the same. -
I'm waiting for a door now. I got here just before 1730 for the 1800 appointment.
The last time I was here it was totally crazy crowded.
And I just got the call...
No such luck for a drop.
Docked and unloaded by 1815. Now I'm just waiting for the lumper to call with the price.
Only $61 for the lumper, but then another 3 hours to get the paperwork back.Last edited: Apr 23, 2016

Thanks. Before my DM offered it to me he already talked to a lady name Andrea. Any idea why that other L/O did not last. I was told that 3200-3600 miles per week and running the mid-west. I just trying to make sure that the empty miles back are paid as loaded. I know that the other accounts like Walmart and Costco are, but they are reefer for the most part.
