Just so everyone knows, we are all doing good in Houston after the flooding on Monday/Tuesday. Many residents have had significant property loss. 8 deaths as a result from all this. It's nice to see pictures of our local store associates stepping up and helping out all those who are affected. Stay safe everyone.
Ron_G_Sr, noninetofive, TomOfTx and 2 others Thank this. -
Anyone know the answer to this ? I renew my hazmat have not got it back yet and my 90 day extension is almost done will Walmart let me work with out it this is a renewal not a first time thanks

Orientation starts 5/2/2016 at Toby and I'm all reved up. Compared to what I'm use to. Large Cars and loose leaf logs. This is going to be a real culture shock to my system.

You could talk to Debra or Tom in safety at Sealy for the best answer. Before you do, I suggest you call DPS in Austin and find out if they have received the background check from DHS and added your hazmat back onto your CDL and MAILED A NEW HARD COPY TO YOU! DPS has been grossly understaffed the past 2 years and has been causing a lot of headaches for Texas truck drivers pertaining to medical certifications and hazmat endorsements. If it has been more than 30 days since you passed the hazmat test and did the background check and fingerprinting, I suggest contacting DPS right away. Odds are good that your records have not been updated correctly just like what has happened to more than 100,000 other truck drivers here in Texas in the past 2 years.
DPS in Austin can be reached at 512-424-2600. Follow the prompts related to CDL licenses. Best to call them on a weekday right at 7:00am. Call later than 7:15am and you may not ever speak to a live person that day. Yeah, it is that screwed up these days, especially in the CDL division!WallyWife Thanks this. -
Matt, glad you made it through the flooding and are doing ok. We only received about 3 inches of rain down where I live South of Houston, so nothing compared to what other places received. I have just been hanging out recovering from the surgery I had on my shoulder on March 3rd. Likely will not be back until about July 1st. The recovery from surgery to repair a torn labrum is a whole lot more painful and time consuming than I was hoping for! Walmart Grocery Pick Up has been my friend in recent months!

Glad to hear your recovering well. Have not tried the groc pick up yet. Enjoying the new neighborhood market that openned up near me though. 3 more drivers started orientation this week. Also have a second safety man now with Tom. Mike is name, real nice guy.TomOfTx Thanks this.

Thanks Matt. I haven't been in Sealy since March 1st when I came to say hello to everyone prior to my surgery, so I have been out of the loop of what is going on lately. I noticed about a dozen smaller box trucks parked near the fuel island and have seen a few of them at Walmart stores lately. Are they using these smaller box trucks for something related to the grocery pick up?
