Good job....don't know money but drivers are happy. Have day cab Petes on the crude. If it's really Enterprise it's crude or LPG only. All chemical operations were sold to KAG. Bad job.....

They hiring huh? Surprising..... they left many good drivers behind in the buyout. (to suffer with KAG ) I figured they would offer any possibilities to them first...just sayin....

    Good luck

Same as KAG , Trimac and the punkin. Good starters on the liquid side, cater to the big and cheap shippers like Dow and 35 to 45k to start. They are all really the same on the cc side.

Pick one, do a couple of clean years and angle for Praxair or some other pvt fleet.

    Good hunting

I'm an O/O for Transport Service in Baytown and as you may have realized, KAG bought Enterprise out some time ago and now we all use their terminal in Baytown. I've no complaints with the company and I'm pretty sure you can make some decent money as a company driver. I think TSC drivers were making as much as 47c mile loaded, but I'm not sure about MT mile pay. Good luck

chalupa, Do you know of a private carrier around Topeka, KS ? I've got almost 2 years with tanker and hard shell as well, I've done propane, ethanol, motor oil, herbicides, liquid fertilizer,
caustic soda, phosphoric acid, I need to step up the ladder a few rungs, I want a company I can earn 80 to 100k+. This is some dangerous stuff we work with , ought to get paid accordingly.
    Thank you.

Not off hand no, I suggest you look for pvt. chemical mfg's or cryogenic plants. Doesn't helium come from that area too? ( Air Products ) Are there any oil company load racks there? And if so, any company trucks?

I think you need a little more tanker time too. You also need to show solid time with one guy, they hate job hoppers....even though they understand.

Another idea is to angle in off a common carrier working for a major. AP, ALAC, Shell and many more support operations with common carriers . Just be careful and do you research, some have agreements to never hire off the cc fleet that works for them. It has nothing to do with you either.

And I so agree with your last statement BUT, that's not going to happen. Trucking and distribution are accounting cost centers that must be controlled. The driver's wage is the easiest target. There is also a barrier to deal with......where a driver is only worth so much where the 70 hrs you put in are never considered. A big double standard. My payroll girl had a 4 yr degree and earned 45k, she was totally disgusted that I earned twice as much for "unskilled labor"

    Good hunting

You can haul crude oil or LPG. Crude is home daily, with LPG you may have to stay out sometimes.
Pay is hourly + commission, and there is a safety bonus. Our benefits are awesome: really good insurance (BCBS of Texas) that doesn't cost much, dental, vision, 401(k) w/ company match, discounted unit purchase program, PTO, company-provided uniforms and boots, etc.

Crude guys are driving daycab Petes and Freightliners. LPG haulers are driving sleeper Freightliners. Most of our equipment has less than 300,000 miles (mine has 87,500).
