    Corning, CA.

A pplan was sent at around 0200 this morning. Pick up and delivery times had both passed by over a day, and it was short. Less than 60 miles to Sacramento. A t-called load there at the terminal.
I ignored it completely. I didn't even look at the qc messages, just what came on my phone.
I didn't want to take the chance of getting stuck in Sacramento with no load over the weekend if I could help it.

Then about 0630 that was removed and another sent.
Pick up at 1100 in Richmond, deliver in Eugene, OR Monday morning.
    Better.

A planner also sent a message... "Duane, are you ready to go?"
I'm not sure what the planner was trying to imply, because I didn't go off duty until 2150 the night before.

I never talked to the guy after he left of course. Just always assumed that he couldn't be profitable.
3200-3600 during the spring and summer is very possible, "grillin season" ya know. ;) I used to stay on the road from the end of March till the end of July.
But things do slow down during the rest of the year and you'll end up pulling quite a few non Bush loads to keep you busy.

Still sitting, woke up at 02:00 last night with upset stomach and nausea and it hasn't let up. This will make for my third 34 this week.

Well, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

I'm just outside Eugene, OR at the TA, 12 miles from my morning delivery.
Nice day today. I really love getting in this area, for the scenery if nothing else.

I'm a week away from a home time request in MN, and I hope it works out better this time.
I had a request in for Sacramento last week, but it never happened. Too many things got in the way, it seems, and I had to cancel it.

Here in Alabang, Manila. Very long day. Saw something today one the leg from JFK to China, first class, business class and premier almost empty. All of 8 people. Could not even upgrade that when that empty can upgrade cheap.

Took 3 1/2 days for them to get me out of Missouri, waiting to unload in West Allis before picking up next door to Buell Motorcycles in East Troy, WI for a run to Denver.

    Umatillo, OR.

After I delivered in Vancouver, WA this morning I was heading to Troutdale and received a pplan.
I did a double take... it said 58902 as the weight.
When I got to the terminal I went up to see the planner. He said that it was just a typo, until he actually looked at it again. It was supposed to be a heavy haul load, and it really was almost 60k. Needless to say he removed it from me.
The load had been refused by heavy haul because they didn't like the freight in Spokane, and it somehow ended up in our division. The person that sent it to me didn't look at the weight because 'that never happens'.
I'm glad I didn't just accept it while assuming that it was a typo.

The planner I spoke with already knew that I want to be in MN on 5/2 and he is trying to get me somewhere with better east bound freight. There is nothing right now out of Troutdale.
A few hours later he sent me a load that I will t-call in Spokane. It is going to Canada. It is at least in the right direction. He said it should be easy to go east from there, or at least from Lewiston, and he will try to find me something.
