It could be good for reserved parking revenue. I'll just go to the next stop now but if the elog were about to scream at me I'd pay to park.
-
Unfortunately, that was the exact situation I was in. The empty spots were already reserved, so I had to call ahead and reserve a spot while hauling arse to get there before my clock ran out.
-
And then the next thing you know, every spot will be a pay to park spot. Just watch. Of course they already have those...like the Petro in West Memphis or Bordentown.
-
Yeah, shippers and receivers wont let us stay for 10 hr for sure. I usually have 1-5 picks in CA. It may take up to 2 days on paper , with elogs i'd be there for a week and sleeping on a shoulder. Flexibility and making decisions is what they are taking from us. They dont care, cause billions involved

You'r real issue is with the HOS not the elog.spyder7723 Thanks this. -

As far as the paid parking I just park there without paying. I usually get about 8 hours before they confront me. Then I just ######## around for a couple hours before pulling out. What're they going to do call the sheriff

You also say they threw in the towel on some things. Care to cite a couple examples of what they gave up on? -
Actually, you and others assumed that when i said you are legally allowed to drive to the nearest safe place to park when unforeseeable circumstances delayed you, i was referring to the safe haven for hazmat rule. When i wad in fact not. Safe place to park does not automatically mean hazmat safe haven.
Some day when i care more i may break out the big green book and look up the rule our safety director showed us and quote it here. But today is not that day. And i doubt tomorrow will be either. In the mean time i will continue as i have been doing for 20 some odd years, and which every single law enforcement officer i have spoken to has agreed with.
