Prime will sell you a used truck as well. This truck you've posted is a horrible deal I bought my truck directly though prime for $91, 000 or $4, 000 less. It had 240,000 miles or 85, 000 less with no dealer fees and had new tires as well but prime didnt strip the costly super singles off the truck and replace them with duals to sell them separately like this dealer did. Also I was able to lease my truck for a few weeks before buying which gave me more of an opportunity to check it over than the test drive youre gonna take at this dealer. And I was able to get complete maintenance reports which you aren't gonna get from this dealer. Again dave prime treats people better than you think they do.

Some people encourage me to believe in the men and women running the U.S. Government. Saying, they'll treat you right and take care of you with little out of cost expenses. Hahaha

So is this when you guys run out of legitimate fact based arguments and have to resort to making claims that make no sense about how prime is like the government in order to feel as though you've won?

Look we are one of if not the best place to start a career. There are companies out that make every effort to to advantage of new drivers. We one driver in other thread who made 62k his first year, many other companies would have gladly payed him half that and screwed him, we don't do that here.

Many new to the industry use this forum to pick a company, and when they see a bunch of garbage posted by those that have no experience with nor have worked for prime such as yourself you maybe directing them towards a job that pays $20, 000/yr less than this one. If your comfortable with directing new drivers to companies that take advantage of them on pay then continue trolling here. If not there's many other training companies who you could go add your remarks to.

No the asking price is $95K. You can drive it off for under $90, i'm quite certain. I wouldn't want the super singles. And keep in mind, anyone purchasing one of these, isn't paying through the nose for a rip off lease. I am curious as to what the real value of these are though, since they are detailed to the max, serviced, $5K worth of new rubber. Figuring transportation, and dealer fees as you suggest, it will still be less than what Slime sells them for, so where is all that extra money going? And they had a bunch at this same price with 230K ish miles but they are gone.
    No Slime is Slime.
    So do you run solo?
As far as a test drive, they let you drive it to California if you want. Experienced drivers know there are only so many things gonna go wrong with the truck. It comes with the 600K mile drivetrain warranty that you paid, again to benefit the rest of us. Slime uses the fear tactic
" the truck will break". They all break sooner or later, but typically its nothing overwhelming, unless you beat or don't take care of your equipment. Slime is a sales pitch.

Good post, and this is a better deal avail from pedigree truck sales which is prime's in house used truck dealership. Again dave prime's a good company. I keep trying to tell you, in some ways I've even proved it and you don't want to listen. For the record I'm sure others are totally willing to make life decisions as serious as who they go to work for based on the fact that their future employer rhymes with slime. And yes I am a solo.

If this option doesn't suit you can also lease a truck that's just less than 3yrs old for a couple weeks, drive it, get it looked over and when your comfortable with it buy it, pricing for a 2014 evolution that has been in the fleet for 36 months is $70, 000 which is $25,000 less. That's for the same truck this truck he's shown above is 3 yrs old or it wouldn't be for sale at a third party dealership the price I just gave is for a three year old truck as well. You do not have to complete a lease at prime to buy the truck, you can literally sign the lease and buy the truck 5 minutes later.

I did not intend for this to be anothe prime lease bashing forum. There are plenty of them around. I just wanted to know if paying myself a salary made more sence then taking the whole settlement.
As far as safety net I would like one but I run local right now. Contrary to popular belief doesnt pay great. Just enough to survive. But you do get to stay home every night and weekend and watch kids grow up.
At this point in time to us a lease makes mor sence. Yes high payment but new vehicle with warranty. Not really ever planning on owning a truck and dealing with all that entails.
I guess I was hoping. Beyond hope that there we people here who want to educate and pass down knowledge.
We did a lease for 2 years one time. Learned a lot. Was great to start but had very old truck no warranty on it so maintenance ate me alive. Yes I failed at that one and yes we lost everything, house, 13 acres of land, 2 cars. But now that I have gotten older I realize it was not all the companies fault. Main fault was mine and my wife's because we did no homework and treated it as a paycheck on steroids. Now we have been looking for 2 years at this. Prime seems like the best fit for us.
Can we fail? Yes. Will we try not to? Yes. That is why I am still trying to gather more information on how to run a business. Education is key. So why is it so hard for so many to try and help someone. Are you afraid someone might just be successful.
Now on the what is success? Does it mean you have to be a gazillionaire? To me no. Just make money and do what you love that is success. So with that in mind if I make money, drive trucks across this great nation and spend a lot of time with my wife I will feel successful.

So please no more pime or pro me lease bashing. We have all heard enough. If you cant help on educating someone to run a successful business or way of life keep that comment under your hat till you can get to the proper forum and the have at it to your hearts content.

    Thank you

I'd advise you to click the joker's name, then hit ignore. Any grown man who makes ignorant analogies about a company and the government, lol, whut?! And, Slime vs Prime, are too stupid and immature to contribute anything to an adult conversation. You are trying to make a serious decision for you and your wife. After what my colleagues have contributed, I have nothing to add. I'm a new l/o and just had my best week. I'm not dedicated not do I want that. I'm not hurting at all. If just prefer a Southeastern route so I can move back to Florida. That has nothing to do with Prime. I would even bet it I asked that could be made to work. My fleet manager is cool, and I don't have to deny the loads offered. He gains nothing by starving me out. Also, I'm not purchasing, straight leasing. Just like a salesman leasing a car for work. The vehicle is a tool for the job. I never want to own a deprecated tool. Sure if you do you have no payments, but if payments are part of your business model and you can afford to pay yourself, where's the problem?

Welcome to Prime, you'll find out for yourself. None of these guys who work for Prime have mislead me in anyway, recruiter, fleet manager, driver, no one. Some of the lease ops don't have a clue, but they don't post here.

Actual at home expenses will be about $1600 a month till I pay off the explorer. Then about $1200 a month. We plan on only trying to live on $600 to $800 a month on the road. We dont plan on being home much when she gets on truck. Maybe a day or two here or there in other places and home maybe 3 or 4 days every 4 or 5 months.
