Never good to see terminals being downsized or removed, goes against the idea of steady growth.
Fontana was a regular stop for me during the Summer, simply because it was a secure place to park my truck while me and the wife spent a week or two at the beach.
I bailed out on the lease purchase crap though and bought a glider, so it wasn't like I was going to be able to get out there very often anyway.... -
The latest I've been told (from a reliable source who has good connections...my source is an IC with years working for Schneider): Schneider will no longer hire drivers who list a California residence.
True? Only time will tell.
My same source says the Phoenix OC is tied up in permit issues so no expansion as yet. Solid foresight to close 1 OC before completing the expansion of the OC intended to carry the load. -
They've been saying for Atleast a decade they were going to build a OC in Phoenix.
My guess is more OC's will close before they build abother OC.Home_on_wheels Thanks this. -
It doesn't matter IC won't be able too use them anyway.
PoleCrusher, TennMan, Home_on_wheels and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's a load of crap right there....SNI intermodal still has two SoCal locations (LA and San Berdo) that combined moved more containers than Chicago did last year during the busy season. The intermodal division isn't going anywhere and the majority of their drivers are local day cab guys.
