    Oh, and something else.

The Crossroads truck stop (right across the street from the weigh station) has the biggest donuts I've ever seen.
And, get this... Jelly Rolls! Even bigger than my mom used to make.

I delivered yesterday morning in Spokane Valley and it wasn't until this afternoon that I got a pplan.
    Actually, I was stacked.
The first one picks up at the drop yard and delivers Monday morning, the second picks up in Spokane early Monday afternoon and is going to IA.

So I have the weekend off and I won't get to MN by the 2nd, but at least I am headed that way.
The date wasn't important this time, so no big deal.

Still here on vacation and enjoying my time actually relaxing for once. The best part, from 1800-2000, open bar and hour de vers, and enough for a real meal, and no charge, and on the bar, Mr. Walker Black, and after 2000, allowed to fill up my class and bring back to the room. Innkeeper, Ummmmm

Well, I had a rather bad day today.

I pick up the trailer to deliver this morning and it is missing a mud flap. No spare in the truck, but I figured I would go to the Love's after my next pick up. There were no scales along the way.

I get to the consignee, a Napa Auto Parts store, and as I pull in to the little alley there is a guy waving me back. He tells me that there is no way out and I will have to back in from the street.
I didn't want to blind side back into that narrow alley so I went around the block to line it up correctly.
On the turn back to that street, I missed it.
I pulled to the far left of that narrow street, watching for traffic, and I heard a thud.
It was an overhead line that I just snapped.
I moved the line to the side and went to deliver my load.

After I got backed in to Napa I called the power company to let them know what happened. She said it probably wasn't a power line, but a data cable. She gave me the number to the phone company and I let then know as well.

Then I picked up my next load and headed to Love's to replace the mud flap, and found that now both flaps were missing. ?
My only guess is that a previous driver backed into a curb too hard and ripped out the mounting holes, and that other flap fell off someplace in the last 30 miles.

I had reported the accident with the overhead line to Swift, so now I'll have a preventable on me for the next year.
    Oh joy.

Dang Moose that sucks buddy. I really hate those little places that weren't designed for our big trucks. Sending us to those places is just begging for accidents.

Well I just passed my 1 year mark not too long ago. Luckily I kept a perfect record and logged over 100k miles. Coincidentally they want to take my trusty truck now and put me in a new one. I'm guessing it'll have a driver facing camera and since I'm not ok with that at all.. I'm already putting in applications for local gigs. It's too bad really, I wanted at least 2 years with swift. But.. I'm not submitting to that creepy crap and living in a truck that films and records audio 24/7.

Hope everyone's doing well and driving safe

Moose , I'm not sure that would be a preventable . Phone and cable are required to be no lower than 14 feet so you may get a non-preventable or nothing at all .

Thanks for the info. I'll let you know how it pans out.

I'm at a little weigh station/ rest stop somewhere in Montana.
There isn't much around here, but at least I have a wifi signal.
Thankfully today went a lot better than yesterday.

Got the message this afternoon that I have to take a close quarters class.

I wonder if it will have a few phone lines that are at 13'5".

It seems that it is getting more difficult to get home time these days.
I was hoping for a quick load from Iowa to home (MN), but no such luck.
I'll be getting closer, but the load doesn't pick up until tomorrow at 2000. It delivers about 60 miles from home in WI, and I expect a Bush load from there.
Hopefully I won't have to wait a day or two for it.
