Since they rebuilt cottonwood southbound I think it was open 2 times when I was headed south. Before being rebuilt it was almost always open when I went thru. Got a 5000+lb overweight on the trailer. That was the day I learned a weight ticket could be a misdemeanor.
Bear was decent, wrote me up, told me to take the load back to Redding and have them rework the load. Shipper went to court, they dropped charges on me and the shipper paid $175 fine as an infraction.
I hit Cordelia EB green 2 x a week and wb 4 x a week. Antelope is closed at night so the locals do not get woke up by trucks.rachi Thanks this. -
They will NEVER let 65 MPH slide. Dude, 57, 58 MPH you're okay. 59, 60, or over 60, you're gonna get your ### handed to you in court.Rugerfan Thanks this.

I usually go 57-58 in CA and trucks pass me all the time. I rarely pass anyone.
And I seldom see a truck pulled over. -
I drive in a 300 mile radius of Chicago. Virtually all the scales would give me bypass, unless I was close to Max weight. More than 99 out of 100. I have always been stopped at Castaic, Grapevine and all the scales in the east bay, except on the weekends when they are closed, thanks to Ronald Reagan. I never got bypass, and they were always open. No weigh in motion like all the scales here, except than one on US30 near I39, and on US41, near the Wisconsin state line.Rugerfan Thanks this.

Hey Bean, Reagan died a few years back, so I doubt he did anything to you, unless your saying he is haunting the scale houses waiting for you. In that case, cut back on the red bull.
-
I grew up in Southern California, and my dad was a driver. He told me the only thing that he liked about Reagan was he closed the scales on the weekends. I don't remember them being open on the weekends at any point after then, which would have been when he ran for president. That's why I credited Reagan.

I thought he was talking about I-88 The Ronald Reagan Expressway......in Illinois, My Bad!

Couldn't been. No scales!
-
Yep....which is a good thing!
