Didn't that Mack have a semi air ride cab? Always like the way they looked.
First time I drove a COE was into the shop building. I was scared to death by that right side blind spot! Lol

I think you can still get an Argosy in a glider.201 Thanks this.

Yes, this one had air ride cab. And the shift lever that stayed in the cab when tilted.
I used to pull 5 axle dump trailer and a tandem belly dump with it. I know what you mean about looking out a COE for the first time. I used to really pay attention the first couple times I had to pull onto raised scales, LOL.
Your avatar just reminded me of another COE I always wanted.....the Ford CLT. The one with the KT600 my old friend had was that stripe job....but the brown and white scheme.bigred81 Thanks this. -
I've never had a chance to actually sit in a cabover. A guy on Kijiji was selling a '57 KW a couple years back but he already found a buyer by the time I enquired about it. One old truck that really intrigued me was the Kenworth CBE. IDK if there is even 1 of those that's still on the road today.

CBE? I don't remember that model? I'll have to look that up.

The KW CBE ( cab beside engine) was kind of an oddball unit that never really took off. I believe some freight outfits used them out west. http://www.trucksplanet.com/photo/kenworth/cbe/cbe_2416.jpg
I think one of the nicest cab overs was the GMC Astro. Diamond REO made a nice one too, on par with a Pete or KW. I heard, while troublesome, the Ford CL-9000 was the best riding cab over, with the 4 air bag cab and Nu-Way air ride( although, I never cared for the Nu-Way, too bouncy) The Ford had a lot of problems with those, and you'd see a Ford leaning to one side or back. Many owners took those off. At one time,( '70's-'80's) I bet half of all trucks on the road were cab overs.bigred81 Thanks this. -
My old man bad a cl9000 and a k100 with same motor tranny and suspension and the Ford rode waaaay better than the kW

Here's a bit of useless Western Star trivia from the other side of the World ......LOL
Back in the early '90s Western Star here in Australia were also Distributors of the Dutch truck DAF. in order to compete with our unique B train length laws they Built & sold a Hybrid COE Truck. With the DAF cab & american Running Gear. They sold quite few of these..
In the later 90's The Australian Distributor of Western Star (Transpacific industries) Bought Western Star In Canada & also Bought the English Truck Manufacturer ERF. These were also Sold here In Australia Badged as Western Stars.
ERF was sold to the German Truck Manufacturer MAN about the same time that Freight liner Bought Western Star from Transpacific Industries.. -
I actually saw one of these cab overs in an Ohio truck stop once.strollinruss and FRANK_WOT Thank this. -
The CLT did have a problem early on with the airbags. Firestone eventually corrected that problem. Only rode in one but I never liked my Freightliner again! Lol
