I have seen many "good samaritans" roaming the trucks stops lately and guiding truck drivers into a parking spot. Inevitably the "helper" then goes to the truck driver and asks for money!
I do not pay these guys nor do I acknowledge them in any way. I am perfectly capable of backing my truck into a parking spot. -
the whole time during that swift video I was waiting for the bad thing to happen!

No GOAL either
-
Yeah, I have lots of experience.. all of 5 weeks, if you count the 3 weeks I had with my trainer.
Company policy is GOAL. It's on the mirrors. Its' backwards on the trailers. It's everywhere. It's more important than "Be on Time".
Myself, I ALWAYS GOAL. I've had a couple wannabe helpers (other drivers), but I still get out and check it myself. Only one was offended, and he can kiss me where I sit. -
even when i drove tow trucks i tell pepole if you try and guide me i will aim for you ( i dont trust pepole )
i was guide into a large telephone cable with a dump truck by a helpfull person now i only trust myself for clearances -
Alright...dumb question from a 4-wheeler....
G.O.A.L.= Get out and look?? -
the best "helper", IMO, to trust is the driver(s) of the trucks between which you are trying to park!!!Fratsit Thanks this. -
I had a guy help me up in Casper wy one day I was having troble seeing all of the other trucks through my mirrors. It was at the small flying hook up there. I will never stop there again.
I used all of the space in front of me and still could not get the truck straight with the trailer so he came and said need some help.
I told him yep he guided me back and he understood when I went to GOAL.
I explained that it was my butt not his if I hit something. -
