Think you are right as it is doing ever weirder & random issues as time passes; hard reboot/auto zoom reset immediately after loosing signal entering the I93NB Boston tunnels heading from Assonet, MA to St. Albans, VT.
Currently has the brightness issue still & just clicking on brightness menu option does not resolve any more, have to change a brightness setting to something other then selected then back to what you want. It seems to be evolving its file corruption. Cheers

 

Well just got fed up with my 730, went and bought a Garmin. Now when I get home I'll send the 730 in for repair. It's just a 400 dollar paper weight at this point.

 

Mark kling, my 730 won't power on. I tried to download the dock, but at some point it said device must be plugged in to continue. It was plugged in but Windows wouldn't/ couldn't recognize it the nav

 

Avoiding to the lady I talked to at RM I have the latest update. Now to be fair it did work great after that for about a week. Then it just went stupid. I think it has a software glitch. It keeps giving me an alert error in file restart device. Freezes, dirt road alert on interstate, puts me on roads then tells me it's not a truck route. Gives me the wrong exits then routes me down tiny small roads. Etc.. I have made the changes you suggested but it just resets itself at will on the fly.

My led below power button stopped working.
Unit stopped charging , would not connect to computer and stopped responding to power through usb .
