The problem is back in 1984 they had just changed the aiding and abetting laws in Kansas, so even though I was found guilty by reason of aiding and abetting, it is listed as if I committed the crime myself, because they make no distinction between aiding and abetting and comitting the crime for sentencing.

But murder or an attempt to comit it is listed as a lifetime ban. Now perhaps I could get a waiver if I could actually get them to go look at the case files and see it was only aiding and abetting, but I wouldn't hold my breath on their willingness to dig into a 33 year old case only in paper records.

And it really isnt hazmat or border crossing that hurts me, its the fact that the company sees attempted murder and thats as far as most care to look.

OK, I understand. However what is the code section of your violation? Does it say just murder or does it say aiding and abetting murder. My point is this. Don't go by Kansas law with this. While Kansas might link them I'm not 100% sure the feds do outside of the RICO statue. It's a technically but it might be something to check out. As far as a trucking company goes your record is so old most of them won't care just make sure you report it on your applications.

You would be surprised. I list it on my applications, and so far out of about 20 companies (that hire cdl graduates) only the three listed have agreed to hire me. A couple more have agreed once I get at least 6 months experience, so if Tyson dont work out have other options.

But I have always been one of those people that prefer to stay loyal to the company I start with as long as they treat me good. Only reason I have ever switched jobs is because of layoffs.

But I'll do ok, always do. Too stubborn not to make it in whatever I decide to do :)
