So I was finally able to get my authority approved last week. Now comes the next step of getting IRP/IFTA. I went to DMV to change the title from myself to my LLC but none of them are trained on IRP/IFTA and just gave me the application to do it myself. It has a few confusing questions like estimated miles and things like that. Not sure how to answer that. I'll be running 48 states. Also, does anyone know what is needed to apply in Virginia for IRP and if I could get them the same day if I go to the main DMV in Richmond, VA?

All states have the estimated miles you will need to use your first year. You just copy them onto the form. Most states have sample forms and instructions you can order or download from the state website. In fact, it would be a good idea to do that first. It will cover everything you will need to bring with you to get your IRP and IFTA. States now issue the IRP for all 48 states. It changed a year or two ago. Make sure you pay your UCR prior to going to your IRP office. You will also need to prove residency in your state in order to tag in Virginia. You will need to bring a copy of your paid 2290, title, MC authority and insurance, along with other documents to prove residency. If you download or go to their website, it should cover what is necessary. You should be able to get your IRP the same day if you get to their office early. Remember to take your lunch. It usually takes several hours. I think most states have the IFTA and IRP offices together now or at least in close proximity.

To change the title from yourself to LLC you must apply for a Corpcode, at least in NJ. Next steps are explained above by gman.
If you have your authority in NJ and change of title, you will have to have everything else in NJ, not VA
