1600 homes burnt, who knows how many will need to be rebuilt due to water and smoke damage.

Got an update from my Dad. Said its a lot worse than it looks on TV. They're still working up around Parson's Creek. Also told me the fire jumped the river by Waterways and is roaring East towards Saskatchewan. Also seems like they're trying to hide what's really going on. A lot of videos on YouTube of the fire have been blocked.

    Dye Guardian Thanks this.

Here's the one posted by Michel Chamberland as he was evacuating Beacon Hill just before Beacon Hill burned to a crisp. The video got so many hits he licensed it and he is donating the proceeds to fire victims:

About the time he came out onto 63, I was coming up to that same intersection from the opposite side. I headed North. Had to at least grab the essentials from my place downtown. Anyone who says they weren't scared obviously didn't see what we seen. When I went South last night I thought for sure I was gonna die. Got caught in the middle of a firestorm at the 63/69 junction. Smoke was darker than night. I was following an ambulance and could hardly see the flashing lights from 70' away.

Update from the old man. They predict this fire will cross over into Saskatchewan today if winds persist. Last I heard from Premier Nuttley that we will remain under mandatory evacuation for "more than a few days" might be a week or 2.
