    When I showed up for orientation, it only took an hour to realize that I had been lied to from my recruiter Nate Rieken, and what a mistake I had made by trusting what I had heard.
    So I left. Smartest move I ever made.
    I tried numerous times requesting reimbursement for my travel expenses, but was routinely ignored, so I wrote a letter to CEO Michael Gerdin. As expected, complete lack of response and accountability.
    At first I tried to be diplomatic about issues, thinking there was a misunderstanding, but now I realize that it was a misrepresentation about expectations, AND LIED TO. And no accountability to anyone's actions.
    I have given HeartLand Express over a month to be accountable, now I turn to forums and reviews with the hope that others don't fall into the same trap as I.
    Only been in trucking for 2 years, tired of being #### on, and have moved on to another profession.
    Truckers need to be treated with respect and dignity, not constantly #### on, and maybe there wouldn't be the turnover rate there is.

    So, you show up to orientation. Didn't complete orientation/hiring process. Left of your own accord and expect them to pay your travel expenses. :biggrin_25523: Good luck with that.

    ABSOLUTELY.....
    I attended orientation based on my discussions with my recruiter.
    And I know.....good luck.
    But hopefully my posting will help others with decisions.

    I agree with the op, it's AMAZING the amount of bs you have to just shut up and take to make it with one of the mega trucking companies. Commend you for not bending over and taking it like all the others. United we prosper, divided we beg

    First of all I don't know how many years you got in this business but if you actually believe everything the recruiter tells you then sorry you got an egg on your face... Many of us that have been in this business long enough no not to believe everything a recruiter says

    I talked to there recruiter many years ago made up my mind by what i was told.Can't B.S. a B.S.er seen right through them not for me.
    As for getting your own way back you left its on you sorry but that's the way it works.

    If they lied about something that cost this man time and money
    They should be held accountable for it. .... Why not?
    Think he already knows they will never stand up like real men and do the right thing
