    Question has been pondering me for awhile now. I figure p&d is pick and drop. But what's ltl mean? Probably something simple too.

    Any other acrynyms you drivers use?

    Other acronyms i use:

    A word that begins with F and one that begins with S. If either or both of these words are uttered 3 or more times during the day then the job probably isn't that good. There are exceptions however----like the P+D LTL gig i have now and the ones i've had before.

    i'm on nightshift linehaul right now and either or both of these words are SELDOM uttered by me!

    However, i've had foodservice and/or beverage delivery jobs and either or both of those words were not only uttered 3 or more times a day by me, very likely 3 or more times a minute! In my opinion, these types of jobs just aren't worth it no matter how much they pay..... :(

    P&D=pickup and delivery
    LTL=less than truckload
    SLC=shipper load and count (when signing for and picking up a pre-loaded trailer that's been spotted at a shipper. Carrier usually has to have an agreement with shipper allowing shipping documents to be signed for that way)
    BOL= bill of lading
    Can't think of any other general ones off the top of my head at the moment. I'll add more as I remember them. Every carrier has their own internal list of acronyms.
