Really I hope that they can get the massive fire under control and people get out safe

    Thanks @Ruthless

@Runawayscreaming it likely was. My dad stuck around to help shut the place down. He's stuck in traffic on Super Test, trying to get to town and get home to BC. I'm getting ready to head back to Alberta and pick him up just in case his truck is burnt up.

In all honesty I'm amazed that the only fatalities were the result of the traffic accident mentioned previous. Most emergency response plans were not set up for this. Almost every area of that town has only 1 way in/out. I'm still fuming over the fact that the evacuation was starting around 1:30 yet I was never informed of it from my employer until close to 3. Plus I was at a site 45 minutes South of town. The only reason our truck driver's knew about it was because 1 was on site and I flagged him down to tell him. He phoned the rest of them. He was smart. Dropped the trailer and bobtailed to Edmonton straight away. Apart from the men and women on the front lines, social media played a massive part of it. If it weren't for Crackbook and Twitter I honestly think it would have been a much larger tragedy.

I have a nephew that works for Westower in Thorsby. He sent three crews up the day after Beacon hill went up in flames to set up portable cell towers. The following links to one of his crews Facebook post of pictures surrounding one of the existing towers. He says the towers survived just fine.

I listented to him being interviewed last night. His buddy called to wake him up. He open the door to check and got the hell out of there. Seems like a nice young fella I thought. Head on his shoulders too.

Ah man. I just got up the courage to look. Seen my 3rd cousin's house flattened in that one picture of Beacon Hill.

Well we're all good. Went and picked up my dad last night. So all we can do now is hang out. Thinking I might go and pull the pieces of my W900 out from behind dad's shop today and get some progress on that project since I'm gonna be here for at least 2-3 weeks.
