I was being facetious. In the last year, every Internet discussion about political correctness, flags, Islam, etc. seems to devolve into a real-time example of Godwin's Law.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

Considering that students are the ones that put a year book together, any one with a brain knows this wasnt a typo. A typo is what happens when you press the wrong key, not when you replace an entire name. It is a clear cut case of a deliberate hazing/act of humiliation by a fellow student. Now does that entitle her to a judgement in a lawsuit? Of course not. Life is tough and she better get used to it. But it does call for the school to do am investigation to find out who was in on this and take appropriate disciplinary measures.

I can't figure out how a "typo" causes "Bayan Zehlif" to become "Isis Phillips." Agree that this was an intentional prank by some wise### students.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

Never heard of Godwin's Law... Looked it up and had to laugh... That does happen oh so often.alghazi Thanks this.

Or maybe it was just a case of mixing up names for two students. Both photo and name are real... Not like they "renamed" her. Both first and last names were changed to that of a former student of the school.

This single picture sums up Godwin's Law perfectly. -
Are they? From the info in the news article the only one claiming a student had that name is a student on the yearbook staff. And they get the pictures from the company that handles school pictures. The names clearly printed with each photo. It's an extremely simple process. Basically it's rudimentary editing for kids with am interest in pursuing journalism.
Is it really likely that a professional photography company mixed up the name of the girl with a student that is not currently enrolled there, and therefore her or his name won't be on any forms with the pictures? Or is it more likely that a teenage kid pulled a dumb prank like every one else that's ever been a kid has? -
Yep... That is totally possible too.
