I left Heartland over 2 years ago, but I can help you a little. All the trucks are now set up with factory installed 1500w inverters. Some have APU's, some have battery systems, some have opti idle and the oldest trucks I am guessing still have nothing at all. They just started looking at systems around the time I left, and trade trucks on a 3 year cycle most of the time.

No idea on the western region. That was mostly GTI freight and lanes, I have never run them so really cannot comment. I can say that milage at Heartland is less than at most OTR company's, since they are mostly a short to medium length of haul company, and all freight is regionalized. This is why the millage rate can seem high, and it is in many regions or system, but they try and average people out at around 2200 miles per week. So staying out does not really help allot in many cases. Unless you have a dispatcher that really wants to run your wheels off. But every region is different, so may be higher out there.

Thanks ChromeDome. I am used to doing short runs, I do Texas Regional for Stevens Transport, so that is not a problem. Glad they are bringing in modern conveniences that is really what kept me from heading there last month. Going to talk to them next week I think and head out there the beginning of June. One other questions, what is there chaining policy? Personally believe if I need assistance holding traction I probably should be parked. Thanks Again for the info.

I hear that about all companies, even Stevens and I have had no issues with them just looking to be home a little more often. Been driving for 3 1/2 years now and spent the previous 25 years as a retail manager and store owner so I have dealt with pretty much everything.

I live in Colorado. If I lived in TX I would stay with Stevens.

    Offered a salary position,out of Columbus,$975 weekly.
Guaranteed paycheck would be really great.
Would love some input from current drivers.

Not sure what the policy is out west, since they have gti now. Old policy was shut it down, no freight is worth a life. Could have changed out that way but I do not know. In the East they still issue shutdowns for bad areas.
