Prob your granny set. Low 1 thru low 4 or 5 depending on how many gears you have
-
If the transmission is an Eaton Fuller 15 speed, and if you're in low range, pushing the blue splitter forward will engage deep reduction. It's great for starting off with a heavy load, especially if you're starting on a grade.
-
In a mixer it's probably a 9LL (or a 13 under) the blue splitter puts you in deep reduction. (granny low) the only time you'll ever need it is on job sites so that you don't yank the chute man's arm out of socket.
Cam Roberts Thanks this. -
Any cement work that you all mind recommending in Texas?
-
Driving a cement truck ain’t a bad gig, plenty of overtime and half day Saturdays. Good benefits and a weekly check helps. Make sure your water tank is full for a good wash up after each delivery! Most trucks are manual transmissions but automatics are now on the road, easy to drive! San Antonio has been in a growth pattern and cement companies can’t hire drivers fast enough!

The blue splitter button is for deep reduction.
Lol@ 4-8 hours
Try one hour or less in the summer with some column mix.
As stated most loads need to be off within 1.5 hours of being batched.
Mixer isn’t bad. Starting pay is 27 something an hour here, full scale is 32, ot after 8 and Saturday and free medical.
I make 56k last year my first year running mixer with 5 months off. Once you have seniority and you work year round it’s 90k easy.skinnytrucker and Cam Roberts Thank this. -
sounds like an eaton 8LL trans.
8 foraward main gears and a lo gear and a lo-lo gear. In other words deep reduction. Deep reduction also works in reverse.
Dont ever shift that button on the fly. Must be done at a standstill and only to be used in LO gear or reverse. Never attempt to use in other gears. ITs not a 13,15 or 18 speed and doesnt not work the sameFold_Moiler Thanks this. -
It’s probably an 8LL like you said.
Never seen a mixer with anything else unless it’s an auto.Cam Roberts Thanks this. -
Good pay?
You guys must do a lot of night pours with the heat and sun. Flat work would be brutal.
