Hello all... I'm in need of help. Yesterday I signed up to begin trucking school at CRE England. I'm set to start monday. But I've been reading really bad stuff on them in this forum. I'd really like to start somewhere Monday and I'm torn between KLLM, Roehl, Swift, and Pam transport. I live in Mississippi. Any suggestions as to which of these is better?? Or are there any starter schools/companies out there better than these??

That would be someone's OPINION. I myself, recommend Millis Transfer to new drivers. However, don't panic about CR England. I've talked to a lot of their drivers in southern California. Everyone I spoke with loved working there.
Being new to these threads, you'll find a lot of hatred and pure meanness. You signed up with England, I say go. Have fun. Learn as much as you can. You can always pm me questions if you'd like.firemedic2816, CrappieJunkie and JumpMan601 Thank this. -
You can pretty much find bad stuff written about all those starter companies. Wouldn't worry about it too much. Just do everything you can do pick up and deliver on time and you'll most likely get treated well anywhere you go.

Just make sure you DO NOT EVER sign their lease purchase deal, regardless of all the sweet nothings they will whisper in your ear. If you do get to thinking about doing it, please come back here and make a new thread about it BEFORE you sign anything and ask for advice at that time. Until then, just go drive their truck, try to enjoy yourself as best you can and make some coin.

I second Millis Transfer. Super good reputation.
Jim Palmer Trucking pays real well.
Roehl is ok and probably make more in their National Fleet, van or reefer.rabbiporkchop and JumpMan601 Thank this. -
Write down the concerns you have about C.R.E. E mail the concerns to your recruiter, then follow up with a phone call. Ask the recruiter to answer the concerns in the e mail and get back to you.

Why I understand it . if you get your CDL threw CR England you have to run team. if you want to run solo you have to do a lease purchase. DO NOT DO A LEASE PURCHASE. you will be nothing more then a company driver that pays the bills. you have no claim to the truck. few people succeed in a company lease purchase.
JumpMan601 and Chinatown Thank this. -
If you don't mind teaming until you pay off your student loan to CRE then I guess just go with them since you already signed up.

I remember when England was a halfway decent company.
